New Daintree Tourism Offering supports Jabalbina Heal Country, Heal Culture Project
Looking for an immersive cultural tour led by indigenous guides in the Daintree region, Daintree River, Great Barrier Reef, and Daintree Rainforest? By booking a stay at the magnificent 450-acre Daintree River Falls Nature Retreat -- Julaymba Yirri Yirri -- you will be supporting two nonprofits, HalfCut and Jabalbina Yalanji Aboriginal Corporation, with proceeds going towards their Green Economy Strategy and new Heal Country, Heal Culture program.
The Julaymba Yirri Yirri retreat land, gifted to the Jabalbina to manage, will host rich cultural tours, rainforest rewilding, events, regenerative agricultural practices and two nature-based accommodation options. The main house can comfortably host 10 and is ideal for families, corporate partners, donors, and supporters who want to stay on country. The luxury eco tent can host two people in forest-based accommodation with an outdoor bath. Guests will be welcomed by traditional owners and can experience unique cultural tours led by the Eastern Kuku Yalanji Bama people.
Both charities have developed a new fundraising model that invites donors and potential new donors to visit and witness the impact of their programs firsthand. This hands-on approach focuses on Daintree River riparian restoration, expanding wildlife corridors, carbon sequestration efforts, ongoing scientific research and more.
