Ethinvest’s Blair Palese on the Smarter Impact podcast

What are the things Australians don’t know that they should? Have we actually passed “peak emissions”? Join podcaster and business leader Philip Bateman for his recent conversation with Blair Palese, director of philanthropy at Ethinvest, managing editor of Climate & Capital Media and founder of the Climate Capital Forum. In their four-part discussion, they talk about disinformation, renewables and all the things that keep Australia and the world obsessed in our daily media cycles.

In Philip’s interview he and Blair Palese cover existential challenges, new pundits, collaboration in the emerging low carbon world and ask some pivotal questions such as when we're seeing public discussions about nuclear energy policy and infrastructure:

  • Is it generational thinking for the benefit of the public?

  • Or is it a delay tactic for fossil fuels and a political wedge issue to get out of opposition?

"Australia is still at the cutting edge of some of the best new renewable energy technology in the world, including better than China,” Blair says. “Are we doing all we can to make the most out of that economically? Not even close! Are we still lagging behind in thinking we're not good enough? Yes! But we are 100% good enough; we just have to support our own innovators!"
