So... Are EV’s really better?

Like most people, you may believe that electric vehicles (EVs) are needed to help the world get off polluting oil. You might even own an EV yourself. But when someone asks you “are EVs really better than internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles for the environment and climate?” are you able to back up your thinking?

The Ethinvest team has pulled together some great information about EVs vs ICE vehicles – including a great video – touching on everything from the mining of the minerals needed to make EV batteries and how much energy goes into making the two vehicle types so that you can talk to others about the benefits.

There’s a lot of mis- and dis-information out there about pollution generated by EVs and how they compare to ICE vehicles, not only in how the energy they use is produced but in the making of the vehicles and the mining of the materials they require. Should we be more concerned about fires in electric cars? Are there more human rights concerns about mining rare earth minerals than other materials we use in ICE vehicles?

These sources will give you everything you need to know on the topic and, spoiler alert, if you thought EVs are in fact better than ICE vehicles for our environment and climate, you are correct!
