Sydney Peace Prize
Congratulations to Nazanin Boniadi, the winner of this year’s Sydney Peace Prize for her work for her steadfast work in support of the #WomanLifeFreedom movement in Iran.
Boniadi is urging Australia to impose sanctions on Iranian Communications Minister Eisa Zarepour. Zarepour, educated in Australia, is accused of being involved in internet shutdowns in Iran. Boniadi, during her Australian tour, aims to raise awareness about human rights abuses by the Iranian regime and calls for Australia to take a stronger stance, similar to actions taken by the United States and the European Union, who have already sanctioned Zarepour.
