UK's four-day working week trial signals growing interest around the world
The world’s largest four-day working week trial in the UK has just ended and almost all of the 61 companies participating have decided to continue with a reduced working hours model.
The 2,900 workers taking part agreed to produce the same output for the same pay, while reducing their hours to a four-day week. Revenues stayed largely the same for participating companies, while employee wellbeing improved significantly including less stress, burnout and reduced anxiety levels.
Director of the trial Joe Ryle said similar programs are set to start in the US and Ireland, with more planned for Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
